Lifecycle

This animation was created for a motion design class in fall of 2022. I was tasked to animate part of a mural created by artist June Kim titled 'Ten Symbols of Longevity.' I edited the assets in Illustrator and then created a looping animation in After Effects.

My animation plays upon the themes of the source material, expressing the cycle of death and rebirth in nature. I recorded a flute-like synthesizer as background music to reinforce the mediative mood. Below are some storyboards created during pre-production.
